RUSSIA - GOLDEN RING

GOLDEN RING:

The oldest centres of early Russian culture are situated in their respective regional centres, with unique cathedrals, churches, and bell towers of the 12th to the - 19th centuries. These are Vladimir, Suzdal, Alexandrov, Murom, Kostroma, Tver, Rostov, Yaroslavl, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Uglich, founded in the period from the 9th to the 10th centuries. At the dawn of their history, almost all of them were self-sufficient princedoms, and Vladimir was even the capital of the Russian land in the 12th century. With time, all of these lands became part of the Moscow princedom. In the distant past, the Slavs settled the region, with the exception of the Vladimir region where Finno-Ugric tribes lived.

The Golden Ring of Russia may be travelled any time of the year. There are various travel programs along the main cities in the Golden Ring – Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov Veliki (Rostov the Great), Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Suzdal and Vladimir.
